Targeting Subsoil Constraints in Southern Queensland: Concept Proof of Spraying Polyacrylamide for Subsoil Stabilisation during Tillage

چکیده
Deep ripping, in conjunction with gypsum and/or organic amendment, is known to be useful for removing physical constraints and improving crop yields dispersive subsoils. However, the benefits are short-lived due lateral movement of Na into soil between rip lines, slumping following wetting loosened soil, leaving low pore volume air water movement. This study evaluated effect high concentration polyacrylamide (PAM) solutions on stabilising structure, a focus PAM application aggregates theoretically dislodged by as part subsoil decompaction. Three distinct soils (Vertosol, Kandosol, Dermosol) from southern Queensland were treated sodic. These further applied under three scenarios, including: immersion, coating, no application. In general, stabilised above 1.5 g L–1 when immersed solution or coated product, compared non-PAM-treated samples. The efficacy depended concentration, viscosity, type, mechanical force. concept spraying during tillage was proposed, there feasible potential prolong decompaction long enough through aggregate structure.

متن کاملIdentifying Different Areas of Inhomogenous Mineral Subsoil: Spatial Fluctuation Approaches
We use a recently proposed fluctuation-type procedure for detecting breaks in spatial regions to distinguish between hard and soft areas of inhomogeneous mineral subsoil like additives, air pockets and adhesion. For a proper application, some refinements of the procedure are necessary. Both simulation evidence of the refinement and the application on the subsoil yield favorable results.

The present paper validates two alternative global sensitivity analysis methods, namely variance-based and elementary effect, for the purpose of detecting key subsoil parameters that influence the output of mechanized tunnel finite element simulation. In the elementary effect method, a strategy for considering the dependencies, that result from a set of constraints between different parameters,...
متن کاملField application of PAM as an amendment in deep-tilled US southeastern coastal plain soils
In sandy soils of the southeastern USA coastal plains, crop production is limited by low water holding capacity and compacted soil layers that reduce root growth and productivity. Polyacrylamide (PAM) was added to sandy coastal plain soils to improve physical properties and yield. Soils were amended with linear and cross-linked PAMs. Treatments and controls included the following: (1) spraying ...
